Ways to Increase Engagement on Instagram

When it comes to engaging with your clients, you have to be on the social platforms they are actively using. These days, Instagram still seems like the major place to be, even after all their many algorithm changes. Speaking of algorithm changes, now more than ever it’s important to create and share content that your audience engages with in order for your posts to be shown to a larger number of people. That’s why it’s key to find ways to increase your engagement rate on your Instagram posts.

Instagram tips

The engagement rate is based on the number of users who like and/or comment on your posts upon seeing them. The best way to elicit engagement is to create and share content that creates a reaction, asks a question, or covers a relatable topic. Today, I’m going to share a few clever ways to drive higher engagement on your Instagram posts so your content is seen by more of your potential clients, you’ll grow your followers and more!

Share Relatable Content

Right now, there’s a big emphasis on sharing content that your followers can relate to. There’s even a girl who has turned sharing relatable graphics into her full time business. Whether that’s a funny meme about wedding planning or an inspirational love quote, sharing relatable content will elicit an emotional reaction of some sort from your audience, which will make them more likely to like, comment or share your post with others. Of course, you want to make sure that whatever you share stays on-brand with your company’s voice, style, aesthetic, etc.

Join a Pod

Instagram Pods are a rapidly growing strategy for increasing your Instagram engagement. An Instagram Pod is a group of users who like and comment on each other’s posts regularly in order to help drive engagement and further the reach of each other’s posts. The sooner your Pod members like and comment on your post after it is published, the more likely it is that your post will be shown to more people. This strategy tends to work best if you are in a similar niche as the other members of your pod.

Ask Questions

Engage your followers by asking questions, either in the form of a graphic or within the caption of your post.

“Ask a sincere question that you want feedback on and watch your followers engage and comment in response.”

If it fits your brand voice, consider making your questions quirky and fun, such as asking your followers to answer using only emojis.

Find Targeted Audience Members

Find, follow, and engage with your target audience. If you’re a wedding pro, connect with other pros, follow, comment, and like their photos. Search relevant hashtags and like or follow accounts that you think would enjoy your content. Browse through the accounts that are following your competitors and like and engage with their content –if they are following your competitors, they will likely enjoy your content as well!

Using these tricks should definitely help you see noticeable results with your Instagram marketing efforts. Happy Gramming + Growing!
