Meet the Editor: Catharine Noble of B.LOVED
We’re excited to introduce you to another of our editors today, Catharine Noble of UK-based B.LOVED blog. Founded in 2011 as a wedding blog by Louise Beukes, the blog has grown to include lifestyle, interiors, family and fashion. Two years ago, Catharine took over as Editor, and has brought her photographer’s eye to curating B.LOVED’s gorgeously light and airy aesthetic. We sat down to ask her about her experience with blogging, Matchology, and how embracing their unique style can help wedding pros to connect with their ideal clients.
3 THINGS ABOUT YOU THAT WE SHOULD KNOW
I’m also a wedding photographer in the sunny spring and summer months with my fiancé, James.
I’m passionate about community over competition and feel that it’s really important to find your tribe within the wedding industry, but also in your own specific services.
I really love to make moodboards!
HOW DID YOU GET INTO BLOGGING?
When the wedding blogging world began, I loved how much it brought people together who liked the same things, to share ideas and inspiration. I grew friendships and a network, I found the blogs that were my style, that I most enjoyed and couldn’t miss – and I supported them. I got know B.LOVED Editor-in-Chief Louise Beukes through our similar interests and style. Over the years I had the opportunity to create moodboards for features, became a contributor and two years ago became the Editor. I love it!
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE FOCUS OF B.LOVED?
The focus for us right now is creativity and details. Whilst the signature style of imagery you’ll find on B.LOVED is beautifully light and airy, our style of weddings varies. We love to see details, heaps of interesting ideas, we want to be inspired – oh, and we adore flowers! We share weddings that can be modern, elegant and romantic, as well as fashionable and heartfelt. From the contemporary to fine art, boho luxe or industrial chic.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A SUBMISSION?
We do look for lots of details as this is primarily what our readers want to see. From detailing the table decor and the flowers to beautifully styled cakes, stationery and did I mention flowers?! We look for submissions that will inspire our brides-to-be and not be too repetitive of what’s already been featured and seen before. Putting your own spin on things and stepping out of your comfort zone to show brides what you can do, and the amazing weddings they could have.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST SUBMISSION TURNOFF?
Sending way too many images can spoil the effect of first seeing your submission, especially if there are lots of similar shots of the exact same thing. My advice is to take some time to curate your submission to include the very best shots.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE RECENT SUBMISSION?
Passionate Photography and Splendida Weddings created a wonderful mix of timeless elegance and up-to-the-minute trends with this historical venue, the Palace of Estoi. It’s a great of example of how couples can still include current trends with a classical venue. It’s tricky to do, which is also why I appreciated this beautiful shoot so much!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT USING MATCHOLOGY?
I love that Matchology ensures that everything we need for a submission is there. It keeps me organised and the submitter organised and we can each see where the submission is up to without sifting through emails and files to find things.
“[Matchology] keeps me organised and the submitter organised”
APART FROM MATCHOLOGY, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BUSINESS TOOLS?
Pinterest and Instagram are great tools for us connecting to our readers and followers but also in terms of being inspired, connecting with suppliers and keeping in the loop with what our friends and network are up to. I can’t say enough about how much I use and love them!
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BUSINESS CHALLENGE? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WISH YOU’D KNOWN WHEN YOU STARTED?
Allowing myself time off. Running your own business can seem to some like you can work whenever you want and also not. The reality is that if you’re as passionate about your business as we are about B.LOVED, you’re always devoted. There’s always something to do, and you’re constantly inspired with ideas you want to action. It’s funny that you have to be strict with yourself not to show up to work, but to take some time to turn off. I’ve promised myself to practice more mindfulness and balance in 2019.
WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE WEDDING PROS TODAY?
Be you, embrace your niche, find your style. Don’t feel that you have to fit every trend, style or genre or have to take every client that comes your way. The more your nurture your own signature style and brand, the more you’ll be seen for it and connect with the clients you’d most love to work with.
